Social Justice/ Teen Vinnies Groups

Social Justice/Teen Vinnies groups empower high school students to become advocates within their school and local community by putting their faith into action. Groups are made up of committed students and teachers and typically have between six to fifteen members ranging from Year 7 to Year 12. Groups meet regularly to discuss and raise awareness of social justice issues and organise ways to help others in need within their own school community and beyond.

Social Justice/Teen Vinnies groups are a great introduction into the St Vincent de Paul Society, allowing members to experience its ethos, while developing leadership skills. Social Justice/Teen Vinnies groups provide students with opportunities to put their faith into action by actively coordinating volunteer driven projects, events and initiatives that allow students to reflect on the needs in their community, help develop empathy, compassion and understanding with their fellow students, and share their passion to raise awareness about social justice issues.
